To draft Pattern and Undertake construction of 2 such complex garments.
To study, learn, and apply various finishing techniques suitable for a particular fabric.
Take up projects and follow the design process to execute projects from any of the broad areas of styling, Publication design, corporate visual identity, Visual Merchandizing, display and store design., Understand the importance of meticulous detailing & research with regard to theme/specialization within mediums of fashion communication, storyboard, client profile, material sourcing. etc., Understand the importance of conceptualization of different themes and also to present options to the Jury/industry sponsors for seeking approval.
On completion of this module, students shall be able to
1. Develop the creative problem solving and practical skills required by pattern cutters today.
2. Explore various pattern cutting techniques through practical workshop sessions, specialist demonstrations and studio critiques.
3. Develop knowledge of the interdependence that exists between the designer and pattern cutter in translating innovative design into finished garments.
4. Further develop skills through self-directed study as well as through studio supervision.
To explore, experiment and develop an individualistic style and approach towards Fashion drawing and illustration. To develop various forms of stylized fashion croquis. To learn to render /enhance illustrations digitally
To Analyze, Research and document Indian craft clusters and heritage. Apply design process to elevate the opportunities for Indian Craft Clusters. Design intervention to promote artisan skills, and facilitate sustainable commercial
growth and exposure.
The course is designed to explore cultural heritage and traditional craftsmanship of India and innovative application of available and emerging technologies to meet the requirements of emerging luxury market in personal accessories and lifestyle products. Outcome includes understanding of consumer, trends and dynamics of ever evolving craft heritage and design.
